I just downloaded IE 7 on my backup computer, and it does not put the fav icon in the address bar until I save the site to my favorites. I thought maybe IE 7 has a setting you can change to see favicons all the time, but when I searched HELP for favicon and fav icon, no topics were found, so I guess not.
